About Inspired Movement

Inspired Movement arose from a desire to reach my clients on a much deeper level than was possible in larger group classes.

After years of teaching clients with various injuries, and physical pain, I noticed a gap in what I was offering, and wanted to dive deeper into ways of helping them.

As I started to explore biomechanics and the brain / body connection, I decided to work with clients on a one-to-one basis, and in very small groups. Peeling back the layers of what each person needs, what their body is telling them, guiding them to better understand their own body and how to move in a way that is functional and safe.

The connection between our brain, body and nervous system is a beautiful thing and can bring about much deeper, more meaningful change.

About Lisa Davis

From a very young age, I trained to be a dancer.

I attended the Royal Ballet School, the English National Ballet, and Arts Educational. Every day I danced, moved my body and pushed it to its limits. I thought I knew my body. I thought I understood my body, but in truth, it was quite the opposite. I was trained to push through pain and injury, to keep going. No pain, no gain! Until one day it got the better of me.

Fast forward many years later, a knee op and various other injuries I’ve collected, and I feel that I now know my body! I am in tune with it, what it needs, when I should slow down, or stop altogether!

I decided to train as a Pilates instructor over a decade ago, and it was the start of my journey to truly getting to know my body better. I was drawn to the precision of Pilates and the amazing results it had on me and my catalogue of injuries.

In more recent years I have taken an interest and some training in biomechanics, gut health and nutrition, brain based training and working with the nervous system. All of which has hugely enhanced my Pilates and movement classes.

I have 3 beautiful boys, love spending time in nature, walking, reading and eating good food!

My History & Bio

I trained at the Royal Ballet School, the English National Ballet, and the Arts Educational School throughout my years as a dancer. During this time, I also discovered Pilates and was taught by Alan Herdman.

After a knee injury that resulted in surgery, I decided to walk away from professional dancing and returned my attention to Pilates, which, after taking the practice back up again in my early 20s, helped me to improve my physical health and rehabilitate my injuries.

I trained to be a Level 3 Pilates Instructor, and subsequently created my own brand – lndpilates.

During my previous decade of teaching, I have continued to study and learn Pilates, and have complemented my knowledge with various related disciplines, too.

I am a Lower Back Fascia Franklin Method trainer, have joined numerous Franklin Method workshops, and have trained in biomechanics with The Integrated Fitpro.

Additionally, I have studie Pre / Post Natal Pilates with CES Core Exercise Solutions.

Thanks to my background in Dance, I am also a qualified Barre instructor, having trained with and worked at The Barre Collective in Richmond, previously called Barreworks.

I have also joined workshops with Polestar Pilates and Body Control Pilates, and am currently studying the nervous system and its role in movement.

I continue to study and develop professionally and am passionate about helping clients get out of pain and understand their bodies better.
